After being held for ten months by the Tehran regime, Miss Clotilde Reiss was freed and arrived back in France on Sunday, 16 May. We can only rejoice. To be sure, there was the usual flurry of rumours over the possible ‘deals’ surrounding her release. But we have become accustomed to that.
What is (much) more unusual is that a former official of the DGSE, a certain Mr. Pierre Siramy, claimed when speaking this past Sunday to the TV channel LCI that Clotilde Reiss had ‘ worked on behalf of France collecting information of a domestic political nature as well as information on nuclear proliferation. She is on the payroll of the DGSE.
And with that, we throw up our hands in despair.

Apart from its central structure based in Brussels, ESISC now has offices in Paris, in the United States In North Africa and in Asia. Its team comprises more than 30 individuals – directors of assignments, researchers and analysts – who are specialized in issues concerning terrorism, the Near and Middle East, Africa, Asia, Latin America, Russia and the ex-Soviet Union, the Balkans, low intensity conflicts, ethnic and religious conflicts, Islamism and other forms of extremism, military matters and organized crime.
As a ‘think thank,’ ESISC supports the strengthening of the trans-Atlantic ties and the democracies in their struggle against terrorism and other threats.
ESISC collaborates with associations, foundations and research centres in Europe, in the Middle East, in Asia and in the United States.
Its President, Claude MONIQUET, and its vice-CEO, Genovefa ETIENNE, as well as other specialists have been specially called to testify as experts before the United Nations, the U.S. Congress, the European Parliament, the North Atlantic Assembly and the Parliaments and Senates of France and Belgium. They have taught or participated in high-level seminars and conferences within many military schools around the world, in particular the United States Military Academy (USMA, West-Point), Le Collège Interarmées de Défense (CID, Ecole de Guerre, Paris) and L’Ecole Royale Militaire (Brussels).
ESISC is totally independent of any other organization. It is politically neutral and it finances its research activities by commercial contracts (see ‘Our Services’). In its capacity as ‘think tank,’ ESISC only accepts financial assistance from individuals or foundations. If you wish to learn more or to become a sponsor:
