Paris confirms death of French hostage

French president Nicolas Sarkozy confirmed on Monday morning the death of French hostage Michel Germaneau, which had been announced on Sunday by Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM)'s leader Abdelmalek Droukdel.
