Pakistan/Terrorism: Four NATO tankers gutted near Mach
Local Media reported that unknown assailants torched four NATO supply trucks in Mach locality of the subdivision (tehsil) Bolan in Quetta city late on Thursday night.
Reportedly, unidentified gunmen first opened indiscriminate fire on the NATO supply containers heading to Afghanistan while passing through the Pakistani city of Quetta and later set them ablaze.
Thursday's attack was the second attack on NATO supply tankers heading to Afghanistan in the region in a month.

Local Media reported on Thursday that the beheaded bodies of two tribal leaders were found in the Zor Killay and Bostikhel area in the semi-tribal Darra Adamkhel region on Wednesday.
Reportedly, terrorists belonging to the banned Tehrik-e-Taleban Pakistan (TTP) Darra Adamkhel chapter had kidnapped three tribal leaders who belonged to the Momin group of Darra-based pro-government militants from Shiraki village about four days ago.
According to officials, terrorists later beheaded two of them and dumped their bodies, while the third kidnapped person was still untraceable and might be in the custody of the terrorists.

Security Officials reported that at least five people including children and women have been killed and 45 others wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up near a bus terminal in Pakistan's Swat Valley in Mingora town on Thursday.
According to Officials, the explosion damaged at least eight vehicles and the nearby 50 shops.
The wounded people have been admitted to the hospital. The death toll is likely to rise as the area struck was crowded.
Soon after the blast law enforcers cordoned off the area. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far

Police Officials stated unidentified gunmen shot dead a nationalist leader in Pakistan’s insurgency-torn province of Baluchistan on Wednesday near his home in Quetta.
Habib Jalib, a Lawyer and Secretary-General of the Baluchistan National Party, was attacked by gunmen as he was going to drop his children at school in the Sariab neighbourhood on the outskirts of Quetta.
Senior Police Officer said Jalib succumbed to his bullet injuries in the hospital. According to him, the assailants who were on motorcycle managed to flee after the firing.
No group or any individual has claimed responsibility for the attack. Meanwhile, police launched a manhunt to nab the assailants.

Media reported that Security Forces have arrested about seven key terrorist commanders and some 225 other suspects during raids in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including provincial capital Peshawar, Nowshera and Sarband.
Reportedly, police have captured seven terrorist commanders along with 29 other terrorist suspects from the Bandbasti area adjoining Khyber Agency, and recovered five-kilogramme bombs, 14 rifles, 20 pistols and seven Kalashnikovs.
According to police, two arrested Taleban commanders were identified as Huzaifa Mehsud and Abu Abbas who hail from the Waziristan Agency.
The Taleban commanders have been taken to an undisclosed location for investigation. The troops demolished the houses of the leaders of terrorist groups during the operation.

Government Officials stated that at least 20 people have been killed and over 80 others wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up outside the office of a Senior Government Official in Pakistan's Mohmand tribal region on Friday.
The suicide bomber detonated his suicide jacket outside the office of the assistant political agent in a crowded market at Yakaghund village in Mohmand Agency.
Assistant political agent Rasool Khan said 20 people were killed in the attack and 40 people were wounded. According to Hospital Authorities, 80 people were wounded.
Witnesses said the explosion also damaged several cars and about 30 shops in the commercial neighbourhood. Law Enforcement Officials imposed a curfew in the area.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

Scotland Yard in London announced that British Police arrested on Wednesday in North East England Abid Naseer, a suspected Al-Qaeda leader wanted for trial on terrorism charges in the United States.
He is suspected to have been involved in a plot to bomb the New York subway and therefore had been arrested pursuant to a provisional arrest warrant issued on July 7, 2010, at the request of the US Government.
The US Justice Department is preparing charges against several suspects including Naseer for allegedly conspiring over a thwarted attack to bomb the underground system last year.

Pakistani media reported on Tuesday that Taleban chief Mullah Mohammad Omar has been arrested in Pakistani coastal city Karachi in March this year.
However, Taleban spokesman rejected the report as mere western propaganda, saying he is safe and sound and leading the Mujahideen in Afghanistan.
Omar is wanted by the U.S. for sheltering Osama bin-Laden and his Al-Qaeda network in the years prior to and after the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Centre in America.
Pakistan had arrested Mullah Brather, Taleban Chief No.2, earlier this year from the same city of Karachi.
Meanwhile, NATO stated that three foreign soldiers have been killed on Tuesday in bomb attacks in southern Afghanistan. NATO did not disclose the nationalities of the slain soldiers.
The deaths bring to 339 the number of foreign soldiers that have died in the Afghan conflict this year.

Local Media reported on Wednesday that an exchange of fire at the Indian-Pakistani border near Punjab province that started on Tuesday left two Indian troops dead and wounded a Pakistani soldier and several villagers.
Spokesman for the Pakistan Rangers said that Security Forces at the Indian border fired automatic weapons and mortars at the village along the Sialkot working boundary on the north of the Pakistani city of Lahore.
According to him, Indian troops began the firing on Tuesday morning then again in the evening and the firing continued sporadically throughout the night until Wednesday morning. He said one Pakistani soldier and several villagers were injured during the firing.
On the other hand, a senior Indian Border Official said that Indian Forces retaliated for unprovoked firing from the Pakistani side. The official confirmed the deaths of two Indian troops.

Media reported that Pakistani Military on Monday claimed to have killed one of the top 20 most-wanted Taleban commanders from South Waziristan during a shootout with the military at a checkpoint in Miramshah town in North Waziristan on Sunday.
Ameerullah Mehsud was reportedly killed and two soldiers were also wounded in the clash.
Mehsud's name appeared ninth on a list of most-wanted Tehreek-e-Taleban Pakistan (TTP) commanders from South Waziristan that was published by the Pakistani government during the summer of 2009. He had an estimated $300,000 bounty out for his death or capture.
According to Officials, Mehsud was TTP commander for Makeen and Razmak, a Taleban stronghold in South Waziristan about 430 kilometres southwest of the capital Islamabad.

Security Officials reported that one Pakistani soldier was killed and at least 13 other people including paramilitary personnel and policemen have been wounded when a suicide car bomber shot at guards and detonated explosives at the gate of a paramilitary base in Timergara in north-western Pakistan early on Monday.
According to officials, the attackers travelling in two vehicles packed with explosives, tried to storm the security forces headquarters at in Lower Dir district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province. They opened a fire at the troops manning the gate of the base. When the security forces retaliated, the terrorists detonated their car bombs.
Reportedly, all four suicide attackers have been killed by troops.
Earlier on Sunday, Pakistan police announced that they have arrested 12 suspected terrorists over attacks on two worship places of the Ahmedi community and a hospital in Lahore.
Police Official said that the suspects were arrested in the suburbs of the eastern city. According to him, police also seized a huge cache of explosive material and weapons from their custody.
In May, terrorists wearing suicide vests burst into two Ahmadi places of worship in Lahore and killed 82 worshippers.

Media reported that at least 42 people have been killed and over 175 wounded in two consecutive suicide bombings and a low intensity blast at Lahore’s Data Darbar shrine on Thursday night.
Reportedly, two terrorists wearing vests packed with explosives, weighing around 20 kilograms, blew themselves up at two different places on the Darbar premises, frequented by the devotees.
According to Security Officials, the first attacker blew himself up in the basement, while the second entered the courtyard before detonating his explosives after an interval of two minutes. The attacks took place when hundreds of devotees had gathered to pray in Darbar.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. Pakistani Prime Minister condemned the attack saying that the attack on the shrine showed that terrorists have no consideration for any religion, faith and belief.

According to Officials, a member of Al-Qaeda of foreign origin is also believed to have been killed. The nationality of the foreigner is yet be ascertained.
Separately on the same day, helicopter gun ships pounded three vehicles carrying terrorists in the Kurram region, killing 11 terrorists and destroying two vehicles. Earlier on Monday, Pakistani army troops killed at least 12 suspected terrorists in Orakzai district.

Deadly explosion in southern city
At least 3 people have been killed and 20 others injured when a suspected explosive-laden truck went off in a commercial area of Hyderabad, in the southern Sindh province. According to media reports, the blast also badly damaged a Mosque. Death toll could still worsen as many injured have been shifted to hospital in critical condition.
No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far, whereas the actual nature of blast has still to be confirmed by the police’s Bomb Disposal Squad.

Media reported that a Pakistani Court on Thursday sentenced five Americans to 10 years in jail after finding them guilty of plotting attacks against the state and funding a terrorist group.
Reportedly, all five men were arrested in December in Sargodha, a town in Pakistan's eastern province of Punjab, days after they had arrived from the eastern U.S. state of Virginia.
Pakistani Attorney said that the court found them guilty of plotting terrorist. According to him, the defendants were also convicted of treason and sentenced to five years each on that charge. They are being ordered to pay a 70,000-rupee ($800) fine.
According to Pakistani Officials, the young men planned to travel to neighbouring Afghanistan and join up with Taleban-led fighters fighting U.S. and NATO troops.

Pakistani media reported that at least 24 suspected terrorists have been killed by Pakistani Security Forces during a clash in the north-western Orakzai region on Wednesday.
Government official Azhar Khan said that the fighting broke out when terrorists attacked a police check post with small arms and rockets.
According to the officials, a paramilitary soldier and nine other soldiers were also wounded in the clash which happened in the terrorist stronghold of Djabori that was captured by the security forces last month.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Pakistani Taleban threatened to kill 33 soldiers that have been captured unless the government releases detained Taleban fighters.

Reportedly, four civilians, including two women, were also killed and two others injured when a bomb hit the house in Mamozai area. According to the Police Officials, the jets targeted terrorist positions in Toor Smet, Ghot Kali and Koot Kali in Upper Tehsil.

The US Department of Justice announced on Thursday that Faisal Shahzad, an American-Pakistani has been indicted on 10 terrorism related charges in last month's botched car bombing in New York's Times Square.
Shahzad has been in custody since being arrested at New York's John F. Kennedy airport on May 3 as he tried to board a flight to Dubai, two days after a car laden with a homemade explosive device was parked in Times Square.
The indictment unveiled by the Department of Justice linked Shahzad to the Pakistani Taleban, saying he had received explosives training in Waziristan. The indictment also alleged that Shahzad had received cash from co-conspirators who he believed worked for the group.
Shahzad, who remains in custody, is due back in court on Monday.
